Carla has given the reader a fantastically clear description of the terminology right up front. Beyond that her humor and candid story of her own journey will open the hearts of many who felt that being a woman was a choice. She opens the world to us so that we can experience the pain, the challenges and the joys. I am excited to share this book with others and embrace Carla's hope that knowledge will end transbulling. No one should feel alone in being who/what they were born to be.
• The author gives many useful definitions and then tells her own story. Well written. A good book from which to learn about transgender issue.

• Life Without Pockets My Long Journey into Womanhood is Carla Anne Ernst's confident telling of the acceptance of the gender she's always been. She uses the word "authentic." which aptly describes who she is and the steps she is taking to live on the outside as she feels inside. This is a fascinating book which touches on all areas of her life from childhood to current day. Ernst doesn't apologize, preach, or advocate, but like a good memoir--she recollects, shares, and describes her feelings and experiences of her life and her transition.
  
  This is recommended reading for anyone who wants to understand what it's like to accept that gender doesn't always match the physical attributes one is born with. Bravo to Carla. I know in her book she says that she hates being called courageous and brave, but screw it...it took tremendous courage to bravely reveal all about her gender transition. I admire her, appreciate her guts, and enjoyed reading a well-written, thorough account or her life.
• Well written very touching. On so many pages it was as I'm reading my life story. On many levels I felt elation and once again met my fears. Carla's spirit leads me to believe all will be well. I highly recommend this book. I'm sure I'll re-read it many times.
• This book is educational and emotional. Definitely brings light to the struggles so many people go through. I would recommend it to everyone. I am planning on buying the book.
